The modern descendant, the Italian Regione of Lazio, also called Latium in Latin, and occasionally in modern English, is somewhat larger still, though less than twice the size of Latium vetus et adiectum, including a large area of ancient Southern Etruria and Sabina. The name Latium was thus also extended to this area south of Rome ( Latium adiectum), up to the city of the ancient Oscan city of Casinum, defined by Strabo as "the last city of the Latins". The latter saw the creation of numerous Roman and Latin colonies: small Roman colonies were created along the coast, while the inland areas were colonized by Latins and Romans without citizenship. Subsequently, Rome defeated Veii and then its Italic neighbours, expanding its dominions over Southern Etruria and to the south, in a partly marshy and partly mountainous region. The right bank of the Tiber was occupied by the Etruscan city of Veii, and the other borders were occupied by Italic tribes. It was located on the left bank (east and south) of the River Tiber, extending northward to the River Anio (a left-bank tributary of the Tiber) and southeastward to the Pomptina Palus ( Pontine Marshes, now the Pontine Fields) as far south as the Circeian promontory. But once we tried the Little Secrets, we won’t be going back.Latium was originally a small triangle of fertile, volcanic soil ( Old Latium) on which resided the tribe of the Latins or Latians. As kids, we always ate the original ones and loved them.
Just like all the other Little Secrets products, we honestly prefer these over the original. There are no artificial colors & flavors or high fructose corn syrup in Little Secrets. We love Hu chocolate bars because the chocolate isn’t overly sweet and tastes that it’s real, high-quality chocolate without the fake additives. There are so many different flavors! Jo’s favorite is the Almond Butter Puffed Quinoa. Hu chocolate bars are vegan, paleo, dairy-free, and gluten-free. There are no artificial colors & less sugar in RJ’s Licorice! The texture of it was also much softer and chewier while the Twizzlers tasted and felt very artificial.
We honestly preferred the Little Secrets crispy wafers! They tasted way better. There are no artificial colors & flavors or high fructose corn syrup in the Little Secrets crispy wafers! It’s made with real ingredients. We usually buy the minis because they’re the perfect bite-size! We have to hide the bag from each other so we don’t finish it all too quickly! KitKat’s -> Little Secrets Crispy Wafers We love Justin’s in general for all their nut butters and especially their white chocolate peanut butter cups. There’s less sugar, better ingredients, and taste just as creamy and delicious. Dove Chocolate Cashews -> Justin’s Cashew Butter Covered Cashews Little Secrets is also fair trade chocolate. They use natural coloring instead of things like “yellow dye #5.” It’s so much better than using artificial flavors & colors. They also have dairy-free options! M&M’s -> Little Secrets Chocolate Pieces We love their chocolate bars especially their hazelnut one. There is no sugar added in the Lily’s Peanut Butter cups! All of the Lily’s chocolates have no sugar added, which is why love using Lily’s all the time when baking. They’re different, but good in their own way.
The Sour Blast Buddies are also amazing, but don’t expect them to taste like regular “sour gummy bears” like the Haribo ones. Her favorite one is the peach rings, followed by the sweet fish. But after giving it a couple more tries, she loves them.
