He either gives you card advantage (because, let's be honest, you're always finding something with his +1) or he turns your artifacts into 5/5s. You don't gain much else, but Tezz is amaaaaaaazing. Or, you could go black instead of white and get Tezzeret, Agent of Bolas. You could, alternatively, run red instead of white and gain access to the red goodies: Galvanic Blast, Shrapnel Blast, Atog, and Fling, although the last two are slightly less effective without the Arcbound Ravagers. The main non-budget cards you're looking for are: Arcbound Ravager ($20 a head), Mox Opal (about $10 a pop), Glimmervoid (about $15 a pop). Tempered Steel is a pretty obvious include. Vault Skirge loves it, though you've got three other tough-to-block creatures that hold it well (they just lack the lifelink): Ornithopter, Signal Pest, and Etched Champion.ĭispatch is basically unconditional exile removal for one mana. Otherwise, more creatures definitely can't hurt, it being an aggro deck and all.Ĭranial Plating is absurd, as it's easy to get 7 or 8 artifacts out. Thoughtcast will cost 1 - 2 mana, so it might be a good idea to get the draw two cards. On turn two, you'll generally have 3 - 4 artifacts on the battlefield, and with a land drop, you'll have 2 - 3 mana to spend (if you've got the Springleaf Drum out). If the 1-drop is a Springleaf Drum, you can use that and the 0-drop creature to lay down a second 1-drop. Basically, your first turn will generally look like: Drop a land, play a 0-drop ( Memnite or Ornithopter, then use your single mana to drop your 1-drop ( Signal Pest, Vault Skirge, or Springleaf Drum).
